Adam Brandon is a political bridge builder passionate about working with anyone who shares a common belief in America and its future. As Senior Advisor at the Independent Center, he invites Independent voters to voice their policy vision and join a movement for social change.
Proudly carrying America’s story in his DNA, Adam is a descendant of early settlers, veterans of the Revolution and Civil War, and Eastern European immigrants who sought a better life. Raised in the steel town of Cleveland, Ohio, he saw firsthand how policies affect everyday people. His conservative evangelical father and liberal artist mother sacrificed to provide him with a high-quality education, teaching him the importance of respecting diverse perspectives and listening to those across the political spectrum.
Adam’s experience spans across foreign and domestic policy with the U.S. State Department and in politics working on both national and local campaigns. He most recently served as President of FreedomWorks for over a decade. He holds three master’s degrees: Political Management from The George Washington University, European History from Jagiellonian University, and Real Estate Finance from Georgetown University—giving him a broad perspective on America’s past, present, and economic future.
He believes this is a pivotal moment to put the country’s needs ahead of partisan politics. Drawing on his leadership in the Tea Party movement, he now works with the Independent Center to organize the 40% of Americans who feel politically homeless. He has witnessed firsthand the power that arises when voters unite to demand their representatives act. Currently, he is co-authoring his third book to amplify the voices of this exhausted majority.
Though Cleveland will always be home, Adam now lives in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife, a Ph.D. nuclear scientist, and their two children. He enjoys hiking, traveling, wine, and has a difficult and strained relationship with the Cleveland Browns.
