New Poll: Voters Want Cabinet Shake-Up, Not More Political Theater

WASHINGTON, DC – A new poll from the Independent Center reveals a striking shift in public sentiment: a plurality of Americans now believe it’s time to replace the current cabinet leadership. But the message isn’t just about frustration—it’s about opportunity. Voters are signaling that leaders can still win back public trust by focusing on the issues that matter most to everyday Americans.

“Voters are tired of the noise and the blame games,” said Lura Forcum, President of the Independent Center. “They want leaders who listen, who act, and who put people over politics. This poll is a wake-up call—not just for the cabinet, but for the entire political establishment.”

The survey also found that concerns about gerrymandering remain front and center. Respondents overwhelmingly feel that manipulated district maps are silencing their voices and making it harder for real accountability to take root. This deepens the sense of disconnection between voters and those in power.

Gerrymandering isn’t just a technical issue—it’s a trust issue,” Forcum continued. “When voters feel like the system is rigged, they check out. And that’s exactly what the parties are counting on.”

But the data also points to a growing shift in how voters view independents. No longer seen as spoilers, independents are increasingly viewed as a “fresh start”—a viable path forward for those disillusioned with both major parties.

Adam Brandon, Senior Advisor to the Independent Center Voice and Independent PAC, sees this as a pivotal moment. “The old narrative is breaking down. Voters are far more likely to consider independent candidates as Republicans and Democrats fail to address their concerns—they’re looking for a new way. Independents can force cooperation and restore common-sense governance.”

He added, “This isn’t about ideology. It’s about accountability, responsiveness, and results. Americans are ready to move past the partisan gridlock. The only question is whether Washington is ready to listen.”
